Mission u Offers Single Day or Multi-Day Experience in August

Mission u (formerly School of Christian Mission) is a Rocky Mountain Conference project coordinated by United Methodist Women and the Conference Board of Global Ministries.  This year it is being conducted August 1-3 at St. Andrew UMC in Highlands Ranch.  Along with the normal 3-day program, we are also conducting a 1-day event on Thursday, August 1 for those who can't attend all three days.  It allows people to participate in one of the three studies in a single day.  All three studies are being offered and an individual may make their choice as to which one they wish to attend.

Of course, the normal program is also offered - the three day Mission u in which attendees will be able to attend two studies, the plenary and the evening events.   The three studies offered include Poverty, The Roma of Europe, and The Call: Living Sacramentally, Walking Justly.  We invite everyone - women and men, laity and clergy, children and youth - to learn about poverty, the Roma of Europe, and/or how to live sacramentally and walk justly.  More information and registration forms can be found on the RMC website by clicking here.

Pre-Annual Conference Evangelism Workshop
Noted author and professor of evangelism, Dr. George Hunter III, will present a special pre-conference workshop for clergy and laity titled, "Perspectives on a Local Church Game Plan," based on his new book, "Should We Change Our Game Plan: From Traditional or Contemporary to Missional and Strategic," which has just been released by Abingdon Press. The workshop is designed to help church leaders understand the origins and landscape of the secular climate of our culture and provide ways to re-focus our efforts in mission and evangelism toward reaching new people with the good news of Jesus and his Kingdom. Please click here for more information.

Registration for Exploration 2013 is Now Open

"Your Next Move" Workshop: Planning for Clergy Transitions PLUS Resources Available for Non-Attendees
Is your church going to be receiving a new pastor soon? Are you a pastor moving to a new church? Then this workshop is for you. "Your Next Move" is a workshop designed to help clergy and congregations develop intentional transition plans for those critical first months together, which can often make or break the new leader's tenure. This workshop will be offered again on Wednesday, June 12 from 9:00 AM to noon. Both will be held at Hope UMC in Greenwood Village, CO. Please click here to download more information and to register.

In addition to this workshop, RMC clergy Bob Kaylor has developed a webinar and book on clergy transition planning that is now available from Seedbed.com. The book (Available Here) is designed to be a quick read for pastors and SPR members on the key tasks to focus on in the midst of transition. The webinar (Watch Here) is for pastors and church leaders to watch and discuss together as they prepare for a transition. These are perfect resources for those of you who cannot attend on of the workshops in person.
