Lend A Hand...Donate, Volunteer
or Request School Supplies
As this school year is rapidly coming to an end, the DCEF is already gearing up for kids to go back to school! On June 1, with the support of our community partners, the Foundation kicks off our annual Lend A Hand School Supply Drive for Douglas County children in need.

Since many DC Schools begin as early as August 1, it can be challenging to supply initial student requests. To help with this issue, we are again purchasing KitsForKIDZ. A branch of Staples, KitsForKIDZ offers custom school supply kits for all grade levels, at a substantially reduced cost. For a contribution of only $20.16, you may purchase a basic school supply kit for kindergarten through 2nd grades, 3rd-5th grades or for middle/high school students. Your donation will enable us to have kits ready for our first distribution event on Tuesday, July 26, 2016.

Chapter Highlights
HERITAGE ELEMENTARY PTO's 6th annual auction featured a Kentucky Derby theme and raised nearly $60,000 for the school! Auction bidding began online the week prior and culminated in a silent and live auction at the exclusive Sanctuary Golf Club on April 29.

SADDLE RANCH ELEMENTARY PTIO's 2nd annual Mustang Saddle Up Auction was a huge success and an incredibly fun evening! About 110 people attended the event on Saturday April 16 at the Highlands Ranch Golf Club. The event included both silent auction items and a live auction that was facilitated by an auctioneer. The event raised $34,000, which will help support math, science and other learning materials for SRE students.

Nearly 500 people attended STONE MOUNTAIN PTO's Spring Fling Family Event on Friday, May 6. This event was the PTO's give back for the amazing support from families and community members during their Main Event fundraiser at the beginning of the year.

For Treasurers
Thank you to everyone who made it to the Treasurer Training in early May. We had a great turn out with almost 40 participants from 28 Chapters, including many incoming treasurers and other new officers. We will be seeking some feedback from the meetings so that we can continue to improve upon our training opportunities.   In the meantime, you can review the materials that were covered here.
