Career Connect Program Launches for HS Students
This month, the DCEF's Career Connect program features metro-Denver area employers hosting thirty career exploration sessions for high school students in Douglas County. Over 300 students have registered for the program, which has a diversity of experiences to offer. Sessions remaining this month include Holistic and Alternative Medicine, Business/Retail Operations (IKEA), Fire Services (Castle Rock Fire Department), Archaeology and Historic Preservation (History Colorado), Library Careers and more. Visit https://dcefcolo.org for more information or to register your student.

CHS After Prom Booster keeps students safe after prom
With the goal of keeping kids off the road and extending the magic of a special night, over 150 parent volunteers worked countless hours to create an entertainment extravaganza that started at 11:30 p.m. on prom night and ended at 3 a.m. It was fun...safe...and alcohol free!

This year the 'After Prom' theme was "Game Night" and Chaparral High School was transformed with elaborate decorations, food, games and activities for over 625 students!

Welcome New Chapters!
The DCEF welcomed two new Chapters in March and April. The Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) at Global Village Academy Douglas County, a charter school in Parker, has hit the ground running with planning its spring Dragon Fun Run. This year's main fundraiser is a 9-day program, kicking off with a Pep Rally on April 19 and culminating with the Fun Run on April 28. Their big goal is to raise funds for additional school amenities.

Also new is the Legend High School Girls Soccer Booster whose spring season is in full swing. The booster club helps support the over 50 girls active in Legend's program and has raised funds through a Snap Raise campaign and selling discount coupon cards.  Their primary goal, however, is to build a great soccer program at Legend High School for the current and future soccer players in the community. We wish the girls a successful season...GO TITANS!
