expected to attend. Could your company or organization help spark interest in the next generation of Douglas County employees and business owners? All fields are welcome, but the following are in high demand from our student population: entrepreneurial business owners, architecture, journalism/new media, counseling, psychology, computer gaming and technology. Interested or know of a company we should recruit? More information can be found here.

School Supply Drive Success
The 2015 Douglas County School Supply Donation Drive was again a great success. No final figures yet, but we do know we handed out more than a 1,000 backpacks and school supply orders to students and classrooms. More than $30,000 and 50+ volunteers contributed hundreds of hours helping us. A huge thank you to our partners: Catholic Charities of Central Colorado, Cherry Hills Community Church, Douglas County Libraries, Fresh Harvest Food Bank, Douglas Elbert Task Force, DCSD Homeless Department and Susie Wargin of the Wacky Bike Ride. Please look for a complete list of contributors and donors in our September newsletter.

Annual Chapter MeetingA big thank you to all who attended the Annual Chapter Meeting last Tuesday, August 25th at Castle View High School. We had over 80 representatives from more than 40 Chapters in attendance who gathered to hear about Foundation highlights and updates. We also had representatives from ABC Fundraising, FRV Coupons, Handbid and Inventisite on hand to present on their fundraising products. Materials from the meeting will be emailed out to the Chapter treasurers next week and will also be posted on our website.

Board Member Spotlight
Board Member: Janet Lowe
Occupation: Managing Director, Vectra Bank
Board Member Since: Nov. 2014
She may be the newest member of DCEF's Board of Trustees; however, Janet Lowe brings a wealth of volunteer experience in Douglas County Schools to the Foundation. Janet successfully chaired the Lone Tree Elementary Parent Teacher Organization for three (3) years. During her tenure she managed an annual budget of $200,000 and steered the event committee for their annual fundraiser, "Mane Event," which has successfully netted Lone Tree Elementary $100,000 a year for five (5) straight years under Janet's watch.
Janet also spent eight (8) years on the School Accountability Councils ("SAC") for Acres Green Elementary, Lone Tree Elementary, and Highlands Ranch High School. Six of those years were as chair of those committees.
Like her volunteer work, Janet has been highly successful in the private sector with twenty-five (25) years of experience in the banking industry. She currently serves as Managing Director of Vectra's Wealth Management Division where Janet and her team lead a portfolio that includes assets valued at over $500,000,000.
In addition to DCEF, Janet serves as a Board member of The Leadership Investment formerly known as Women's Vision Foundation and has volunteered for other organizations such as Junior Achievement and the Cheryl Shackelford Foundation. Janet is also a recent graduate of Leadership Denver, a program sponsored by the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce program.

For Treasurers
Creative Fundraising...
Is your Chapter considering crowd funding or an annual pledge campaign? Did you know that the Foundation's Colorado Give's page is the perfect platform for running such a campaign. And Colorado Gives only charges a 2% processing fee to collect online payments, compared to the typical 7.9% of some other platforms, allowing your Chapter to keep even more of your money. To learn more about how to set up your own Chapter fundraising page, please see the attached flyer.
