School Supply Drive Update
The 2015 Douglas County School Supply Donation and Distribution Drive is under way and we need your help! There are numerous ways you can Lend A Hand - from writing a check to riding a bike.
School supply donation bins can be found throughout Douglas County - in local chambers of commerce, recreations centers, places of worship, libraries, medical facilities, local businesses and Douglas County School District administration buildings. Check the DCEF website for a complete list of sites.
You may also make a direct financial donation to the drive, through Colorado Gives and PayPal, or purchase complete school supply KitsforKidz at $20.15 each. Corporations and business groups can arrange internal or external company drives from the comfort of their desk, by using the new on-line school supply donation drive tool - Roonga.
Community members can enjoy a great day outside by participating in the Wacky Bike Ride. Last year the Wacky Ride event supplied 500 KitsforKIdz to children in need!
Volunteers are also needed to inventory supplies, pack backpacks and participate in the countywide distribution days of July 25 and August 1.
Information for the school supply drive can be found on the DCEF website or call 303-387-0504.

Use Promo Code DCSD to receive discounts on DCPA performances - all year long!
As part of our new partnership with the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, DCSD students, staff, and community supporters using the promo code DCSD will be entitled to theatre ticket discounts and service fee discounts!
The ticket discount amount will vary based on the availability, performance, and if applicable, contractual agreement with Broadway producers. (For example, many Broadway shows do not extend a discount on Saturday evenings, in addition, the discount they offer is usually 10 - 15% off vs. Theatre Company shows which offer a greater discount at 30% off.)
The promo code will become valid when single tickets go on sale for the new season in mid-August, at www.denvercenter.org.
MATILDA IS ON SALE NOW! Please contact Jill Schwager, Education Group Sales Coordinator at 303-446-4895 or jscwager@dcpa.org with further questions or for technical assistance.

Board Member Spotlight
Occupation: President, Northwest Douglas County Economic Development Corporation
Member since: January 2013. Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Trustees
Hobbies: Family time, biking, hiking, skiing, all things Colorado!.
DCEF: Why did you join the Board of Trustees?
Amy: I joined the DCEF Board of Trustees to help build business support of our schools and build the future workforce necessary to keep Douglas County ranked one of the highest in the nation for graduation rates and job growth.
DCEF: What do you like most about the Douglas County School District?
Amy: I love that Douglas County has continued to have the highest quality of life since I moved here in 1976. I remember so many positive experiences and teachers growing up in Castle Rock, and now my children have those same opportunities. While our county has grown, DCSD, and Douglas County as a whole, remains the best place to raise a family.
DCEF: You attended Douglas County Schools. Favorite subject?
Amy: I did! I attended South Elementary, Castle Rock Jr. High, and Douglas County High School. My favorite class was Civics and Government at DCHS. Mrs. Knoll was my teacher and we learned so much about history and how the United States runs and why. I still use this information on a daily basis.

For Treasurers Remember that all donations from individuals of $250 or more require a receipt from your Chapter. This can be in the form of a donor acknowledgment letter and must say whether the organization provided any goods or services in exchange for the gift and, if so, must provide a description and a good faith estimate of the value of those goods or services. The $250 is cumulative in any one tax year (calendar year), so if you are transitioning treasurers, make sure you records are current in order to track your donations accordingly.
