Spring 2015 Career Connect

The Career Connect after-school career education program is in its fifth year and will provide a career exploration opportunity for high school students this April. Sponsored by the Douglas County Education Foundation (DCEF), Career Connect features industry professionals showcasing their career pathways. Over 20 sessions will be held, allowing students to explore careers in a variety of fields.

Career Connect is open to all DCSD high school students. Sessions will be held on weeknights in April, from 6-8pm at the employer's place of business when possible. Students will need to arrange their own transportation to the employer's site for the weekly sessions.

Students who are interested in Career Connect can visit the DCEF's website here starting March 15 to see a full list of employer sessions, dates and locations and to register for the program of their choice.

2015 School Supply Drive!

This year Spring will be celebrated on March 20, bringing with it thoughts of warmer weather, "not to distant" summer vacation and no school. The Foundation is also ready to celebrate spring, but our thoughts are all about school, specifically the Douglas County School Supply Donation Drive. We have begun planning for this countywide donation and distribution program, which will provide needed school supplies to children, who otherwise would be without, when starting the new school year. Please be watching for more information in upcoming months, and look for donation opportunities at our many partner organizations and Douglas County events and venues. If you would like to help, please call 303-387-0505 for more information.

Upcoming Community Events!

Through partnerships with Denver's premier sports teams and attractions, the DCEF engaged more than 13,000 Douglas County residents in community-building activities in 2013-14. In addition to providing discounted tickets to venues and sporting events, outings are also fundraisers, and raised over $37,500 for DC Schools last year!
