Support Our Schools on Colorado Gives Day!
Colorado's largest one-day online giving event is coming up and we need your support. On Tuesday, Dec. 9, thousands of donors will come together to support Colorado nonprofits like ours. Last year, a record-breaking $20.9 million was raised in one day! Funds donated to the DCEF will support our "Fill the Gap" initiative, which provides grants to our schools and teachers. In addition, DCEF Chapters have been invited to create a fund raising page and promote online giving to support their school.

The Colorado Gives website is already accepting "pre-scheduled" donations that will be credited to us on Colorado Gives Day. As the season for giving approaches, please remember the Foundation and our schools! Click here to donate.
Apple Awards 2015
Excellence will be honored and on display when the Douglas County Educational Foundation hosts the Tenth Annual Apple Awards. Nominated by parents, students, peers, and the community at-large, DCSD teachers, principals, guidance counselors, social workers, speech/language pathologists, and support staff are selected for outstanding performance in their field of expertise. The gala will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at The Sheraton Downtown Denver. For tickets, reservations or additional information please call 303.387.0505.
8th Grade Career Expo
The Foundation's
Career Connect 8th Grade Expo was held on November 13, with 5,000+ students from 20 DCSD schools in attendance. Over 200 volunteers from 67 companies and organizations spent the day sharing their expertise and advice with our students. In its third year, the Expo serves to bring business and education together to benefit our students. Thank you to the sponsors, employers and parent volunteers who made this event possible!
Annual Chapter Meeting
Over 75 volunteers attended DCEF's Annual Chapter Meeting last month at the Parker Arts Culture and Events Center (PACE). Guests gained tips and insight into a wide range of topics including fundraising, accounting best practices, event planning, and Chapter by-laws. There are currently 100 Chapters serving Douglas County Schools in the form of PTOs, athletic booster clubs, after-prom committees, and scholarship funds.
