| DCEF Names New Board of Trustees President |

This month, the DCEF Board of Trustees elected Amy Sherman as President. Sherman is the President of the Northwest Douglas County Economic Development Corporation, an organization she helped create in November 2011.
Amy also currently serves on the Lamb Spring Archeological Preserve Board of Directors, Roxborough Business Association Board of Directors, the Roxborough PTIC, and ONE Roxborough. Amy was one of Denver Business Journal's 40 Under 40 winners in 2012. Amy is a Douglas County native and lives in Roxborough.

| 2013 Apple Awards - One for the Record Books! |
 More than 200 amazing Douglas County teachers, support staff and administrators, representing every school, were honored during the eighth annual Apple Awards. The event, held at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Saturday February 23, celebrates the best of Douglas County School District (DCSD). DCSD knows it takes every person in a school and a school district to provide an environment in which learning flourishes, which is why the gala not only honors teachers, but also the support staff, administrators and community that make it all possible. | Career Connect - High School Career Exploration Program |
The Career Connect after-school career education program is in its fifth semester this spring and will provide a career exploration opportunity to over 500 students in April. Sponsored by the Douglas County Educational Foundation (DCEF), Career Connect features industry professionals showcasing their career pathways for high school students.
A student and parent orientation for registered Career Connect participants will be held Monday, April 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Chaparral HS. Visit www.dcefcolorado.org to learn more.

DCSD School Supply Drive Gearing up for the Summer 
We know it isn't even the last day of school yet, but we are already thinking ahead to the 2013-14 school supply drive and we need your help.

7th Annual Golf 4 Grads Tournament

It's that time of year again! Sign up to play golf and help raise money for the District Administrators' Scholarship Fund. REA BOOT CAMP A HUGE SUCCESS!

As an alternative to the typical "a-thon" event, the Renaissance Education Alliance (REA) held its second annual Boot Camp in October 2012. This physical student challenge doubled as a fund drive. Athletic events and community service projects helped the students raise $34,000 and collect 4,225 non-perishable food items for the Douglas/Elbert Task Force.
