The preparation phase is almost over for Manitoba's Canada Winter Games ringette squad. With two months remaining until Games, the team put in long hours of practice, has worked hard with off-ice training and travelled Canada wide for exhibition games. The team is a strong position to go for gold in Prince George, B.C.  

 

Coach Rob Walker's team will be ready to challenge for the gold medal. The nucleus of the team has played in the gold medal game during the last two Canadian Ringette Championships - winning gold in 2014. The players expect to be successful. They have had so many high intensity games that they are not rattled in tight games. The team has performed strongly in the preparation tournaments that have been held across the country.

 

Manitoba had a string of three consecutive silver medals at the Winter Games from 1995 through 2003. Those connected with this team believe that this year's edition will be making a return to the podium.

 

The Games run in Prince George, BC Feb 13 to 20, 2015.
