News from the Director of Admissions
The Fall 2013 semester has brought about significant changes and exciting opportunities for our campus, the community, and future students. Corning Community College and the Corning Community College Development Foundation proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting of Perry Hall, our first ever on-campus residence hall, on August 23. | |

Move-In Day was held on Saturday, August 24 for 206  students who joined two Residence Life staff members and 10 Resident Assistants. Students came from near and far to be the first occupants of Perry Hall.  
A total of 216 students from 10  states and two countries now call Perry Hall home. Almost 41% of residents are from Chemung, Schuyler, or Steuben; 48% are from other counties within New York State; and 11% are from outside New York State.
The largest majority (71%) of students are new to college followed by continuing (20%) and then transfer (9%). Approximately 55% of residents are male and 45% female.
Now that our Spencer Hill Campus is occupied 24/7 with busy students and staff, we are excited to announce extended hours for many buildings and services including AVI Fresh, Commons, Fitness Center, Game Room, Intramurals & Recreation, and Library. On-campus housing has transformed our College physically, culturally, and historically. An official dedication ceremony honoring Dr. William L. Perry, CCC's founding President, will be held on May 23, 2014.  It's not too early to reserve your room at CCC for the Spring 2014 semester slated to begin the week of January 21. It's Coming... Counselor Information Day
Monday, September 30 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Spencer Hill Campus in Corning, NY High school counselors will soon receive a mailing that includes an invitation, agenda and RSVP information. The day will include new business program highlights, the nursing program, tours of Perry Hall, and updates from the Office of Admissions. Chat with students, learn more about CCC's quality programs, and meet with your admissions representatives.  FASNY HELP Deadline is ApproachingThe Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY) Higher Education Learning Plan (HELP) deadline is October 1, 2013.
This fund provides tuition reimbursement for volunteer firefighters attending community colleges while serving their community.
There is no restriction on the type of academic course(s) that the FASNY HELP student/volunteer firefighter can pursue on a full- or part-time basis. The FASNY HELP Handbook which includes all necessary forms is online at www.fasny.com. For those interested in applying for FASNY HELP, email HELP@FASNY.com or call (855)367-6933.

Corning Community College is committed to offering access to all students. By providing Internet courses, we are able to reach out to traditional students as well as those students who might otherwise be unable to continue their education due to time and distance constraints or job and family commitments.
The following degree programs are now offered completely online:
An Internet course might be right for you if you:
- are motivated
- are self-disciplined
- practice time management
- work independently
- seek help from your instructor and classmates
- are unable to commute to campus regularly or
- have time commitments or conflicts at the times traditional courses are offered.

Target Audience: High School Juniors, Seniors & Parents
Be a part of our region's largest College Information Fair, sponsored by the Schuyler-Chemung-Tioga & Corning Counselors Association. All area high schools are invited to attend with many schools busing their juniors and seniors to the daytime session. Students and their parents/ family members are likely to attend the evening session. Sandy Olson will be contacting the academic deans to ask for faculty participation.
