Project Lead The Way
There was a (fictional) death in one of Serra's Science Labs...

...and it's the job of Ms. Nguyen's Principles of Biomedical Science class to figure it out.

This year marks the 3rd time Serra's freshman class is examining a fictitious death in the introductory Project Lead The Way (PLTW) course.

Serra also offers Human Body Systems and Medical Interventions through PLTW to sophomores and juniors, respectively. Starting as freshman, students enrolled in PLTW take part all three courses in the program.

Serra Remembers George McDaniel
A coach, a teacher, and a friend

Though no longer with us, the spirit of George McDaniel lives on at Serra. "Mac", as he was affectionately known by his fellow teachers, students and players; coached, taught and was the dean of discipline at Serra from 1979 to 1988.

As a coach he was a mentor to his athletes, as a teacher he inspired the best in his students, and as the dean of discipline he was a fair and even-handed disciplinarian. He was a tireless motivator who continually strived to instill the Serra spirit in all students. George came to Serra from Ascension School during a time of transition for Serra.

His calm demeanor and strong philosophical foundation were a calming influence in what otherwise could have been a turbulent time for Serra. George may have passed away but his legacy lives on.
