Steven Carter on the left is the Outreach Manager for the National College Resources Foundation.  He visited Serra to promote the Foundations Ivy League & HBCU's College Tour. Steven may be sending his daughter to Serra.  

On the right is Josh Davis '15.  Josh is a 3.7 accounting major at Kansas Wesleyan.  He started for the 10-2 Wildcats and was an NAIA freshman all-American.

CIF Softball
The Lady Cavs Softball team opens CIF playoff on Thursday afternoon at 3:30PM at Chadwick HS in Palos Verdes. If you live on or near the hill, go support our Lady Cavs.
CIF Swimming
Kyle Chaney, Class of '17, finished near the top in the 50 freestyle and the 100 meter backstroke. With one swimmer, Serra finished 29th out of 43 teams at the southern section CIF meet.
CIF Track & Field
Jasmin Reed, Jazmyne Frost, Kayla Pickens, and Madison Golden qualified in their individual events and the 4x100 relay. Isaiah Diego-Williams qualified in his individual events and the
4x100 relay. 

They race next on Saturday, May 21st at Cerritos College. Check MaxPreps or DyeStat for individual race times.

Another Great Musical
The theater department performed a tour de force of Aladdin Jr. The Musical on Thursday and Saturday nights and at the matinee on Sunday afternoon.



Thursday night, we counted 15 alumni in the room, they are pictured above.  And 8 former Serra star performers under Adriana's direction are below.



Sunday afternoon we came close to filling the house thanks to students, parents, alumni, faculty, and some plain old theater goers almost filled the room.

Adriana's colleagues in theatre productions at Serra, St. Pius X/ St. Mathias Academy and El Camino, Collette Cruz and Farren Ronquillo, led off the traditional Sunday afternoon rose presentation. The day also brought  Alumni Dashan Nettles '03 (Dashan is receiving his Master's in Health Administration  from CSULB this Saturday), Dan Ryan '65 and wife Linda, Tony Taylor '82, Breanna Vera '15,  Helena J. Conley '98, Jerome Thierry '81, DeShawn Burton '88 to participate in the presentations. Erin McCaffery, Josh Dabbs and Vivian and Kurt Bertrand  represented the faculty.  Celestine Hale, along with Tony Taylor '82, represented the parents and Bro. Dave Murphy S.M.  represented the Marianists. Special presenter Connie Bohannon, Consultative Board member, presented to Adriana.

Serra Golf Classic: 65 Hours to Tee Off
Thanks to Brian Cooper '74, Ron Shepherd '73,  Mike Almaraz '75, Shamira Brown-Sadler '00,and  JeJuan Stoot '00.  These 5 Cavaliers are the drivers of the Inaugural Golf Tournament.  Lots of other people put in lots of time.   People tell us not many Inaugural Golf Tournaments have 100 plus golfers.  We are well over 100.  There may be 30 slots left.  If you still want in, please register (pay your money by the stroke of 11:59PM on May 18).  Click this link or mail your check to 14830 S.
