You Don't Make This Stuff Up
In between a Boys JV game and a Varsity Game, we found Destiny Cabico '19 doing her homework in the dark by the light of her cell phone. Shades of Lincoln with his fireplace and charcoal.
Her sister, Lephina Cabico '16, was inside the gym was serving as assistant trainer to Serra Boys Basketball team.

Father Charles Carpenter '63
Left to right above... Mike Maiuri '60, Nicholas Banks '17 3.5 GPA, Father Charles Carpenter '63 and Areli Acosta '17. Areli is Jasmine in "Aladdin" which will be performed on May 11th, 12th, and 14th in the Cavalier Gymnasium.
Mike Mauri '60 brought Father Charles Carpenter '63 to Serra last Friday for a visit. Mike was a member of the radio club and a member of the band while at Serra. Mike is presently a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Board of Regents. Click here to learn about St. Thomas Aquinas. When a young Charles Carpenter was a student at Serra he was the antithesis of the "2:30 boy." He was a member of student council, sodality, science club, speech club, drama club and played a year of football. We may have missed one club. His life since Serra has been filled with action and accomplishment. Here is a brief outline of his life... He served in the Peace Corps, earned a doctorate in spiritual theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 1997. He is presently the Superior General of the Missionaries of Fatima in the Diocese of Obregon in the Mexican State of Sonora. To learn more of Father Charles' incredible and inspirational life... Who Are These People?
Thursday night a few old timers and a couple of younger timers attended the Lady Cavs games against Bishop Amat. From left to right above are Joe Cormier 81, Zac Bose '82, Will Hailey '87, Jason Richardson '15, Tavrion Dawson '13 and Tom Alford '63. If you live in the San Fernando Valley, Jason and Tavrion are both playing for CSUN...go see them.
As the introductions of the Cavalier Alumni came to an end, the Cheer Team launched into the "Alma Mater" and then joined veterans on the court for the picture below. The Lady Cavs are undefeated in league and will play Bishop Montgomery tonight at 5:00PM today at Bishop and finish the league season at home against a powerful St. Anthony's team Thursday night at 8:00PM.
Steve Kollmeyer '67, All-Catholic League, will be at the game on Thursday night. The Lady Cavs play defense like the Denver Broncos. They score points as well. Briana Johnson became the first Lady Cav to score 1,000 points. She may have as many assists. It's even more exciting to watch her play defense. Here she is with Coach McKenzie Hadley. Briana's GPA is 4.5.
