Career Day 2016
50 alumni, friends of Serra and parents responded to the Counseling office call for presenters for Career Day January 29. Gardena Mayor Pro-Tem Tasha Cerda was joined by business people from large and small businesses, business owners, firemen including a battalion chief, news reporters, engineers, accountants, attorneys, a librarian and more.

Above are the presenters in the gym getting ready for the day.

Every year we get a common response from our presenters, which has become standard....."what great kids, they come prepared."  Yes, they do.

Thank you to Ken Bertrand, Mount Carmel '73, and KJLH for coming to campus and broadcasting from Serra and supplying presenters from various positions at the radio station.

Pictured above is KJLH disc jockey Chris Brown with career day participants Amber Hearn '05, Sergeant Tiffany Maston '99, Chris, and parent/presenter Jana Williams.

From left to right above, Father Ken Templin, Ken Bertrand MC '73 and KJLH, presenter Stephanie Lee '95 (Stephanie has her Alumni Legacy Tile, do you?), Chris Brown KJLH disk jockey, Brother Dave Murphy, and Brother Norm Capinpin.

Boys Basketball
Boys basketball is back.  It looks as if they will be returning to CIF this year.  We had the opportunity to talk with the 4 seniors the day after they upset Cathedral.  Thought you would like to know that seniors Mason Chipley'16 has a 3.06 GPA, Micah Dykes '16 3.1 GPA, Jhanale Gayle '16 3.33 GPA and Xavier Antoine '16 4.1 GPA.

Above are the Cavaliers lined up for the National Anthem before the Bishop game.

Take a look at remaining schedule
here. If you work downtown or are close go see us at Cantwell and Cathedral.

Famous people attend our home games.  From left to right at the Cathedral game are Daisy Esquivel '15, a criminology major at El Camino, Raul Mendes '15 at El Camino as a  theatre arts major, and Tatiana Orozco '15 is a kinesiology major at CSU Dominguez Hills.
