A Colossal Blunder
We are coming to the end of our fiscal year on June 30th. So before you learn about the Colassol Blunder, here is some other information.
With a couple of days left in the fiscal year, the Class of '65 will have donated the most money of any class this year and, counting tickets to their reunion, the most individual donors for the year. We will publish the top 6 or 7 donor classes when we get the final numbers. We will also publish the top classes for the number of individual donors.
Plan on investing in Serra and yourself. It is time for Parent's, Friends of Serra (FOS) and Alumni to buy their Cards for next year. If you order your card after July 1st, you will get the new 2015-2016 Blue Alumni Card. Here is what each side look like.

Now to the Colossal Blunder
In the newsletter sent June 24, we wrote about Pat Reagan as a pretty good football player, a Serra graduate in 1955, thought we had posted a picture of him from a yearbook, mentioned his sculpting and included his website. We were wrong twice. Pat graduated in '54, not '55, and the picture was of his cousin Gerald "Mike" Reagan.
To correct, to the left is a picture of Pat Reagan from '54 and, while we are at it, Pat was named All-Catholic first team. Roger Metoyer , from the '54 team was honorable mention All-Catholic. Here is Roger's picture. The '54 team was 2-6. Here is their picture. 1954 was the first full 4 year graduating class at Serra. Thanks to Jerry Uribe '55 for identifying the blunder first. Here is Jerry in '55 Thanks to John Vincent '55 for telling us that the picture we used was of Gerald "Mike" Reagan '55 and that Mike and Pat were cousins. Mike passed away a few years ago. Here is John Vincent's picture in '55. Thanks to Mike French '54 for telling us ,as well. Here is Mike French's picture in '54. Here is the '55 team picture. They were 4-6. |
