Serra Bleachers
Who said that the only thing permanent is change? Many of you remember "running the bleachers" as a part of practice for sports from football to cheer. Well, the yellow tape on the bleachers means that Serra's bleachers are through. As you can see above, they are coming down. Remembering all the Dad's from the early classes who trucked the bleachers to Serra from, (will someone tell us what racetrack they came from?) Bob Sawyer Sr., father of Bob Sawyer '61 and Bill Sawyer '64, helped with the hauling and still comes to the games. Ted Breuy's '55 Dad worked on the project and also built the benches that are still used today.
The Dedication to Excellence 4th Edition
The Dedication to Excellence was Excellent.
One again the Gym was transformed once again into a wonderland. Diana Murphy, the Director of LMU's PLACE Corps, was the honoree and delivered a motivating and empowering address to the attendees. We cannot repeat enough the importance of Loyola Marymount's PLACE Corps program to education in general and to Serra High School in particular. Thank you Diana and PLACE Corps.

Each year The Alumni & Development Department makes a separate award for a person who has delivered exceptional service to Serra.

This year's award winner is Connie Bohannon.
From the early '70s when her husband Don coached and taught at Serra, into the '90's when her daughters Gennifer and Micheal attended Serra to her continuing service in support of the Annual Report and much more.

Last fall, we filled the gym at the Sunday performance for the play, "Just another High School Play" and had a great time meeting the actors after the show. Many Serra actors, stagehands and theatre people came. Let's do it again. At the close of the performance, Alumni & Friends will take turns presenting a rose to each of the actors. If you will be attending and want to participate, please let us know at vbkates@la-serrahs.org or (310) 324-6675 Ext. 3010
