'65 Reunion 

May 30th & 31st

 It turns out to be true that Dennis True '65 has sent in his registration and will be coming to his reunion from Panama.


Mr. McFarland, Brother Bolts, and possibly Coach Holland are coming.


'75 Reunion

June 20th

 Invitations are in the mail. Coach Don Bohannon has said he will be there.


'85 Reunion

Derek Knight and Zarak Cannady are working on a date for an '85 reunion.

People to Meet

Betty Aguillar graduated from Serra in 2005. She attended Loyola Marymount University, received a B.A., M.A. and  became a PLACEr.  Betty is teaching kindergarten at her other Alma Mater, St. Anthony de Padua in Gardena.  Along the way, Betty met Loyola High School Alumnus, Jesus de Jesus at Loyola Marymount.

Jesus received a B.A. an M.A. through PLACE Corps and is now teaching 7th grade at Henry Dana Middle School in the Wiseburn School District.


Along the way, Betty and Jesus met and now Betty is Betty Aguilar de Jesus. Come and meet them at the Dedication to Excellence Gala.


Another PLACEr


Amanda Kravainger from Cohort 4 will be at the Dedication Gala.  Amanda teaches first and second grade and is the special education coordinator at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Amanda has been there for 11 years and it was her Place school/placement.

Najla Phillips, Serra's Student Body President(on the left)  and Tamira Lofton, Senior Class President (on the right)  are shown here with Maria Apablasa, English Chair, Swim coach and a PLACEr. Congratulations to Najla and Tamira. They are this years Dedication to Excellence Student Award winners. 


Dedication Silent Auction

Brian Quinn '59 is shown here dropping off gift baskets for the Gala's Silent Auction.  Accepting the gifts are parent Dee Dee Hayes and the wonderful Juanita Formica. We've seen some of the student art that will be in the silent auction.  It's worth the price of admission. O' My! We have Disneyland tickets too.



"Guia Bilingue Legal Para Todos"

Serra Spanish teacher Yolanda Morales' book "Guia Bilingue Legal Para Todos" was featured at the USC book fair.  Yolanda is in the middle, Bros. Dave Murphy (on the left) and Norm Capinpin (on the right) attended the fair. All 3 will be at the Dedication Gala and Bro. Norm is one of Serra's 22 PLACErs.


Serra Swimming goes to CIF


Swim Coach and English teacher Rob Keeley (on the right) is shown here with Serra's first CIF swim qualifier. Sophomore Kyle Chaney (on the right) won the 100 yard backstroke in 59.10 seconds and is Serra's first CIF swim qualifier. Congratulations, Kyle
