Will They be Champions?
When you think of basketball, do you think of players soaring into the air for a dunk or going "above the rim" for a rebound or launching a three point shot that arc across the sky before nestling in the nets? If you think of basketball that way, think again and go see the Lady Basketball Cavs this Friday night. For younger Alumni, the Lady Cavs play defense like the Football Seattle Seahawks. For the older Alumni, they play defense like the Monsters of the Midway.
Friday, the Lady Cavs will travel along the 405 freeway, transition to the 101 all the way to Westlake Village. At 7:00PM, a game will begin for the CIF Southern Section OPEN DIVISION consolation championship against Oaks Christian. That is the OPEN DIVISION. If you live in the west end of the San Fernando Valley or in Ventura County, or, for that matter, if you live in Chino, put on your red and/or blue and we will see you at the game.
Vocations
Father Robert Hodges, O.Praem., is on campus two days a week to hear confessions, say Mass and serve as assistant Chaplain. Father Robert is a Norbertine priest at St. John the Baptist Church in Costa Mesa. The O.Praem. references the Valley of Premontre in northeastern France where St. Norbert founded the first Norbertine Monastery in 1121.

Last week, the Norbertine Sisters came to campus to speak to Serra's Women's Vocations in Progress Club. Shown from the left above are Sr. Maritza Giles, Serra student Alondra Carranco, Sr. Roberta Sprlakova, S. Praem., Sr. Sarah Herrera, Fr. Robert Hodges, O. Praem., and Sr. Ana Rogers.
