Dedication to Excellence Why have you been saving the May 2 date. Here's the reason... Many people and institutions have participated in making Junipero Serra High School a success. Diana Murphy M.S. is one of those people. She has been the director of Loyola Marymount's Place Corps since its inception in 2000. Serra's first 3 Place Corps teachers arrived at Serra in the fall of 2002. Since that time, Serra has been blessed with a total of 21 Place Corps members teaching with unmatched enthusiasm and, if we may say it....Dedication to Excellence. Here is a link for more information regarding the LMU Place Corps. Diana Murphy is a continuing part of Serra's success. We are honored to announce her as the 4th annual recipient of Serra's Dedication to Excellence award.
Watch for more ticket, table, and sponsorship information coming very soon! Letter to the Editor As you know, over the weekend we competed in Cheer and Hip-Hop at the Jamz Nationals in Las Vegas. The competition was close. In cheer, the scores were Nogales HS 86, Patriot HS 85 and Serra HS third with an 84. Hip Hop was just as close. Overall, I was pleased with our girls performance and I couldn't have asked for more. They really made me proud. We are already working on next season and go after first places. If this goes in the newsletter we would like to encourage all current and future Lady Cavaliers to join me and my staff on this journey to build our program. We will have try out information ready in April as we get ready for next year's competition. Thanks for your support. Coach Kerris Shun Watkins '12 Thank you, Coach!
