A Question, An Answer, and An Invitation

Do you think any other High School in the country had 3 alumni catch passes in the NFL this year?

Of course, you know that Adoree Jackson '14 made the USA Today Freshman All-American Team.

Serra Students in Action

We all know that Serra's students excel in the classrooms and on the field. Our students excel as citizens also.

Last Thursday morning, 2 students, Simeon Cooper '16 and Saire Cooper '17, were sitting on the bench outside the office in a place usually occupied by those waiting to see the Dean.  Sitting on Saire's lap was a little dog, shaking, fearful, tagless, and wrapped in a blanket. We asked what produced this situation. Serra's finest replied that the little dog was following them as they walked to school.  They didn't want it to get hit in traffic and they didn't want leave it cold and alone. Teacher Yolanda Morales has volunteered to give the dog a home. Mrs. Morales has named the dog Serra. You'll see Serra in the newsletter next week. You can't make this stuff up.

Have you been saving the March 14 date?

If you are a runner, here is an opportunity to do a lot of good, mix and mingle with Cavalier Alumni, Parents and ? and get a 5k run in.

Eric's Vision Foundation has invited Serra to be a part of its team in its quest to make a difference in the lives of those battling ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).  Part of Eric's Vision is to inspire youth to explore careers in medical research. Some of the proceeds will help support Serra's Bio-Medical Program as a part of Project Lead the Way. In addition, Serra students are now eligible to compete for College scholarships offered by Eric's Vision.
