Are you Going to

Corona Del Mar???

Serra's Lady Cavaliers finished 3rd in the Del Rey league with a 4-4 record in league and a 13-10 record overall.  Holy Mackeral!  The Lady Cavaliers will be looking to upset Corona del Mar at 7:00PM tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 11 at Corona del Mar High School, 2101 East Bluff Dr. in Newport Beach.

Corona del Mar finished the regular season with a 21-5 record and 9-0 in league.

If you live west of the 405 in Orange County and have the price of admission, attend and support our Lady Cavs. If you have yet to send an envelope in with some $ in it this year, bring a check and save a stamp. There will be an elderly Alumnus in a white Serra cap to graciously accept your gift.

Serra 56 - Loyola 31

If you weren't there, I don't think it was planned for anyone to learn about this game.  Pat Lynch '59, our lead correspondent, was ill and could not deliver his usual stellar report.  The Daily Breeze gave us nothing but the score.  The Gardena Valley News will have a good story on Thursday.  Here is the box score.

Serra       21      14    14      7              56

Loyola      3      14     7       7              31

PAC-5 Playoffs

Serra 8-2 vs. Corona Centennial 8-2

Serra finished in a 3 way tie for the Pac 5 Mission League Championship.  Serra 21 beat Crespi 20, Bishop Amat 14 beat Serra 7, Crespi 32 beat Bishop Amat 31.  A three way tie....Crespi won the coin flip, Amat beat Serra so Serra is a 3 seed and travels to Centennial in Corona this Friday night for a first round Pac 5 playoff game.Corona Centennial is located at 1820 Rimpau Ave. Corona, CA 92881. Kickoff

is presently scheduled at 7:00 p.m.

One statistic that might be interesting.....Corona Centennial lists 130 players on its Varsity roster on Max Preps.

For stats and comparative scores, go to MaxPreps......some highlights.....Corona Centennial lost to Las Vegas Bishop Gorman by 1 point. Las Vegas Bishop Gorman is ranked #1 in the US.

Corona Centennial is 63rd in the country and 10th in the state.  Serra is 65th in the country and 8th in the state.

Lots of Alumni live in the Inland Empire.

We hope to see a lot of you at the game.  If you have not yet sent an envelope in with some $ in it this year, bring a check made out to Serra High School and save a stamp. As above, an elderly Alumnus will be there with a white Serra cap to graciously accept your donation.

College Night

41 Colleges and Universities showed up for College Night in a full Gym to sell their schools to Serra students and parents.  The Cal States, the UCs, LMU, Stanford, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Marist College and the USAR were some of the schools/institutions represented.

A Surprise

A whole lot of '74 Alumni showed up for the Loyola game.  The longest traveler was Robert Moreland who came in from Florida.  The Class of '74 will be back in January to celebrate their 40 1/12 reunion.

Here are a few members of the Class of '74 pictured as sophomores.
