Wednesday, May 21st
At 6:30pm be in the Serra Gym to enjoy the Serra Band perform in concert. The concert is free. Chris Adachi, a Loyola Place Corps Teacher, is bringing back the "Power" era music program. Baseball Champs Again
We know this much. Serra's baseball team romped over St. Paul 8-2 to gain a tie for first place in the Del Rey league. That makes 2 consecutive league titles. The CIF will determine the play- off schedule on Sunday. Watch MaxPreps for the schedule. Will we win a 2nd straight CIF title?
The Boys of '64
Serra's "Boys of Summer" from 1964 won Serra's 2nd Catholic League Championship. They came and rooted the "Boys of Summer" from 2014 to their 2nd straight championship.
(Inside joke- listening to the guys tell of their exploits, we do not know how they all didn't bat 1,000.00 or how any team scored a run on them.)
Other boys from the '69 champs and the '71 champs attended as well.
Watch next weeks Gardena Valley News. The GVN had 2 reporters in attendance. Go online next Thursday.
