Divide and Conquer

The Lady Cavs applied the heat to Fairmont Prep (26-5) in the first half Saturday night, took the peddle off, and finished with 70-55 victory.  The Lady Cavs play J. Serra of San Juan Capistrano (23-10) in the Serra gym tomorrow night, Tuesday, March 18, at 7:00PM in the semi finals of the southern section of the Division IV  State Tournament.   J. Serra defeated Oaks Christian 34-31in their quarter final game.  J. Serra is a much bigger team.   Come and support them.

Here comes the divide.

The Serra Men defeated Windward 67-52 Saturday night in a game much closer than the score.  Serra advances to the semi-final round of the southern section Division IV  State Tournament.  Serra plays Bishop Montgomery (25-6) tomorrow night, Tuesday, March 18, at 7:00PM in the semi-finals .  That's correct, both the boys and girls play at the same time, but in different places.  Previously, the Men defeated The Knights at Bishop 71-70.  Bishop came to Serra and won 65-51 in the rematch. Pick a Game and Go

Serra Students at Annual Youth Day

Serra students had a significant impact at the Annual  Youth Day attended by 7,000 worshipers at the Anaheim Convention Center .

This year's  theme was "Never Alone, Forever Accepted."    Led by Jaclyn Torres, Director of Campus Ministry and Paul Murphy, Christian Service Coordinator, Serra Life Team Members assisted in setting up for the event, Serra students were involved in the liturgy itself and assisted in organizing the arrival of students from Catholic High Schools throughout southern California and southern Nevada.

The day of the event, 50 Serra students got onto a bus at 5:30AM and headed for Anaheim to participate in the music, the presentation and the liturgy.  The students interacted with attendees from other schools, making contacts and friends with other students from throughout southern California and southern Nevada.
