Passing of a Cavalier Staple

Martin Smiling
Mr. Martin D. Chavez, Class of '77
June 29, 1959 - September 21, 2012

We mourn the passing of Martin Chavez '77. Martin attended Serra's Advisory Board meeting on Monday, September 17. The next morning Martin suffered a massive stroke while driving and died a few days later. Martin was an Advisory Board member for years, an Alumni Council member and attended every football game.....he was one of Pat Lynch's spotters during the games. He was among the most supportive Serra Alumni. Please pray for Martin, his family and his friends. We shall miss him. Cavaliers live on, in God's Hands.
