LB Poly Jackrabbits are on their Way...
to play the Cavaliers in one of the Biggest H.S. games of the Year.

Each team was scheduled to play out of state but each game was cancelled. So, Poly and Serra looked each other square in the eye and said, "Let's go."Friday, August 31, 7:00 pm at Serra. Poly has advised us they will bring 2,000+ fans. So get here early and secure a parking place.
The game will be streamed live at http://www.foxspotswest.com/pages/prepzone.
The Alumni will be at the front gate starting at 5:00 for those of you who want to buy or renew. Or complete and submit this Alumni Card Membership Form.
Like last year, Alumni who arrive early will assemble on the track at the north end of the field before the game. Then they will provide the Cheerleader/Alumni Tunnel for the football players to run through as they charge onto the field.
There may be difficulty with using your Alumni Cards for this event because of Contractial Obligations. We are working to get it resolved in our favor. |

The New Freshman Class are first welcomed with The Freshman Retreat
As a part of the annual Freshman Retreat, they participated in the on-campus Scavenger Hunt. Part of the hunt was to locate the Alumni Wall and learn some of the alumni names. As the Dean, Dwan Hurt's Legacy Tile is a one of the first recognizable names. Is your name on the Alumni Wall?.
We caught 4 freshmen in the act and posted the picture on our Facebook page. Some Facebooker's were aghast when they noticed that our Serra freshman did not have beanies on their heads. We will look into this.

Welcome Back Mass gets a Blessing
As cloud cover protected the students from the sun and heat
Serra's Principal, Christian DeLarken greets our students at the Welcome Back Mass. Mass was said by Fr. Sam Ward of St. Helen's in South Gate. Father Sam told us his inspiration to enter the priesthood came from our very own Father Patrick Philbin, one of Serra's former Principals.

2002 Reunion on the High Seas
Serra's Class of 2002 celebrated their 10th reunion at Marina Del Rey last Saturday night. Serra's 2002 Alumni, led by Shaunna Smith with help from Daysha Broadway, boarded the Tiki Mermaid and headedto the high sea to celebrate.The evidence in the pictures says they had a great time.
