MIDEA Workshop: iPads Revisited
December 5-6
Austin, TX

Many MIDEA and NMC members have been experimenting with tablets over the past year as an educational tool. The power of the tablet to engage and educate audiences is one of the driving factors behind the many educational institutions implementing programs that feature mobile devices. Share what you've learned, explore more possibilities, and connect with others who are working on similar iPad projects in this workshop.

Printing and Re-Mixing the Museum in 3D
November 14
12 pm CT

What is 3D printing and what does it mean for the museum? This webinar, featuring Liz Neely of the Art Institute of Chicago, is designed to introduce beginners to the concept of 3D printing by defining the basic vocabulary surrounding this emerging technology. We'll discuss the multitudes of opportunities for 3D scanning and printing, especially in education and collections access, showing examples from programs at the Art Institute. We'll consider how 3D can be used to build closer relationships with our audiences by engaging the senses and re-mixing the collection to creatively
explore the artworks in new ways.
