PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

The 2013-14 school year is now underway and Grimmway Academy is off to a fast start. There are now over 500 students enrolled in grades Kinder-5th and all of our "Lab Wheel" Programs are now in place: The GA Blended Learning Lab, Edible Schoolyard, Music and Physical Education. In 2012-13, GA added to the solid foundation set during our first year with stronger levels of achievement on the State CST Exams.
2012/13 Results
- 2nd Grade Language Arts-58%Proficient & Advanced
- 2nd Grade Math - 68% Proficient/Advanced
- 3rd Grade Language Arts- 39% Proficient & Advanced
- 3rd Grade Math - 83% Proficient/Advanced
- 4th Grade Language Arts - 66% Proficient & Advanced
- 4th Grade Math - 88% Proficient & Advanced
Other Data:
- 71% of the 4th graders scored advanced in math with 49% of 3rd graders doing the same
- 3rd Grade Language Arts Far Below Basic Students dropped from 20% to only 6%
- 2nd Grade Language Arts Far Below Basic Students dropped from 15% to only 8%
We welcome some new teachers to the GA Family. Each one of them endured an extensive hiring process in which a demonstration lesson with students was required and a simulated review through our evaluation/support program was done as well.

Now in our third year, The GA Blended Program has proven to reach the needs of all types of students at all levels. We look forward to another great year in 2013-14.
