Wheat Yield To Decline As Temperatures Increase
For every degree Celsius that the temperature increases, the world stands to lose 6 percent of its wheat crop, according to a new global study led by Dr. Senthold Asseng (UF). More >
Melting Glaciers Have Big Carbon Impact
As glaciers melt, the amount of organic carbon exported in glacier outflow will increase 50 percent over the next 35 years, according to new research co-authored by Dr. Robert Spencer (FSU). More >
Climate Change Threatens 30 Years Of Sea Turtle Conservation Success
A new study led by Dr. Llewellyn Ehrhart (UCF) shows that how coastal communities choose to react to sea level rise could have dire consequences for sea turtles and other wildlife that rely on an unobstructed beach for survival. More >

On A Tropical Island, Fossils Reveal The Past, And Possible Future, Of Polar Ice
By examining fossil corals found on the Seychelles, Dr. Andrea Dutton (UF) found evidence that global mean sea level ~125,000 years ago peaked at 20 to 30 feet above current levels, due in large part to polar ice sheet melt. More >
New Federal Flood Standard Will Help Communities Weather Climate Change, Extreme Storms
The White House has released a new flood risk management standard for new and rebuilt federally funded structures in and around floodplains. This new resilience standard will help ensure taxpayer dollars are well spent on infrastructure that can better withstand the impacts of flooding. More >
