Happy New Year, I hope everyone is high, dry, and warm. Even though it is snowing lightly now as we wait for another winter snow storm, the days are starting to get longer and, I am counting my way down to summer. For me it goes like this, February 1st is the Southern Cross Boat Owners annual meeting, then the boat show as well as the Opportunity works Auction, to be held on February22, and Merrimack River Eagle Festival which will be held on February 8. That will wrap up February. during March with any luck I will help bring a boat from Beaufort, SC to Charleston, SC. After Mika the Wonder Dog and I might take a road trip, no idea to where yet, but you can place your money on someplace warm.
The other day I was down in Salisbury Checking up on the boats and dropping ladders off, hoping to maybe run some electrical cords to charge the batteries, but there were no doors cut into the shrink wrap, meaning that I cannot work on the boats yet.
When I return from my road trip, weather permitting I will start working on the boats with a goal of having at least one of them in the water by May 1st.
So as you see summer is right around the corner.
In the mean time, this is a great time to take a boating course, through the Coast Guard Auxiliary, or my recommendation would be through Boat Wise, both can be great courses however Boat Wise may keep your interest better.
Also if you are looking for a boat a client of mine Paul White now has his own Yacht brokerage so check him out as well.
Paul Nguyen Photograghy has provided me with some great photos for my news letter over the last year so check out his site as well, and while there make sure to sign up for his News Letter. Paul travels the world for his photographs, my favorite is Hawaii in the dark.
Make sure to sign up for Captain Eds News letter, it is a $37.00 value, but free to anyone that is interested.

Captain Ed's Sailing gets more popular each year, however there are always great weekends as well as weekdays available.
At the end of the day you walk away from the boat and leave the cost of owning and maintaining the boat up to me.
