August caught me by surprise with much business for Captain Ed's Sailing, both with Family Hands On Charters as well as sailing lessons sought by new clients.
I decided to cancel my trip to Maine for the Southern Cross Boat Owners meeting and attend to business here.
I can honestly say that we have not had a bad day of sailing yet this year, I have not counted the trips yet but we have more people on each trip than we have had in the past. This past Sunday we had a full boat of guys who were worked hard as we practiced tacking and jibing over and over, resting to have lunch as we practice holding a straight course as well. We got fairly close to the isle of Shoals, and I was tempted to go through but I had folks that needed to be in sooner than that would have allowed. It was a great trip anyway and I am sure they all slept well that night.
This week we have room for one more person for Wednesdays class. Which will be meeting at Cashman Park at 10am this will be a great beginners class where we will practice operating the boat while under power as well as sail.
On Thursday there is room for 2 more people in that class which will be a more relaxed sail, meaning we will sail the boat with not so many tacks and jibes. This trip will meet at Cashman park around 1:30 / 1:45.
The way things look Saturday as well as Sunday should fill as well, if any of the days this weekend interest you give me a call.
That is all I got other than I bought a new vegetable steamer for the boat so for tonights super I had steamers and corn on the cob. I needed con on the cob before summer was over, we put off things until it is to late. Give me a call come out sailing don't put it of until it is to late. I think shells can go overboard?
I am getting much interest in late season sailing, and when I get back from Boothbay we will have different plans to keep every ones interest up, including evening sails and navigation classes. Drop me an email or call me at 508-451-0431 to schedule a class.
