Memorial Day weekend was a bust for Captain Ed's Sailing, although I did have a chance to clean up my apartment. I really like coming home to a clean, and organized place, especially after a few days staying on my boat.
Not only did we have a lot of rain we have also have small craft warnings that will be in effect until tomorrow morning sometime.
Things are looking up though, the weather is going to be great for sailing this coming Tuesday and I do have a basic sailing trip planned. We will be leaving at 10am and returning around 3pm. I will also have a basic sailing class going out on Sunday, June 2nd. This will be a great trip for someone who needs a refreshment after a long winter as well as for someone who would like to come out and try sailing for the first time. We will be meeting at Cashman park at 10am and returning around 3pm. This class will focus on boat handling while both under power as well as sail. We will also be focusing on safety checks as well as learning what to check for mechanically through out the boat. On Saturday June 1st I already have a Hands on Family Sailing trip planned, they are not expected to confirm until this Thursday, if they decide not to come sailing this coming Saturday, may be open for a basic sailing class as well. Make sure you take your sea sick medication, those wrist bands seem to be working.
If you are interested in sailing any of these days let me know by either emailing me at Captain Ed's Sailing or calling me at 508-451-0431
Win a Half Day Family sailing trip on the Bella Donna. I have ordered more of my now famous Captain Ed's coffee mugs, 70 of them if you would like to know. I love these cups, they are like the old dinner cups with that curve at the lip. Ever wonder why diner coffee taste so good? It is the shape of the lip. So you might be thinking to yourself how can I go about owning one of these priceless mugs, they look awfully expensive. Well, they are not for sail. You have to earn one, by participating in a man over board drill on the Bella Donna. Lets not call it a man over board drill because some of you will assume that there will be swimming involved. We call it picking up a mooring ball while under sail. This is fun activity that we do on the second or third sailing class depending on how well we progress.
It is a great way to refine our boat handling skills. Each cup will be numbered and I will take the name of those who earn a cup. We will have a drawing the first week of August, and the winner will get a day of sailing with their family, where they can demonstrate their new sailing skills.
I want to again thank everyone for their support of
Captain Ed's Sailing if it is even just through reading my news letters.
Thanks Captain Ed's Sailing
Captain Ed's Sailing gets more popular each year, however there are always great weekends as well as weekdays available.
At the end of the day you walk away from the boat and leave the cost of owning and maintaining the boat up to me.
