Memorial Day weekend is finally here, both boats are in the water and the Bella Donna is ready for sailing lessons and charters. I have been looking at the weather and so far it looks as though it is not going to be that great for the weekend. Unless things change the best days will be Sunday and Monday although it may be a little cool the sun will be out. So my plan is this, I am going to keep following the weather, and when the sun comes out I will make my way to Newburyport and try to get sailing. If the weather is not conducive to sailing this coming weekend but the sun is out I will try to be along the board walk, downtown Newburyport with the Bella Donna, so if you are in the area stop by and visit.
From here on in we are ready to sail, to be better in the loop follow me on Facebook, since I will not always be able to get on line with my computer I will send short bursts out through Facebook letting you know what is happening. Of course you can always call me at 508-451-0431
Special thanks to Nick and Judy Waterman, as well as the folks at Hatters Point Marina, for rescuing the Sarah Maria after it broke loose from it's mooring.

Captain Ed's Sailing
Win a Half Day Family sailing trip on the Bella Donna. I have ordered more of my now famous Captain Ed's coffee mugs, 70 of them if you would like to know. I love these cups, they are like the old dinner cups with that curve at the lip. Ever wonder why diner coffee taste so good? It is the shape of the lip. So you might be thinking to yourself how can I go about owning one of these priceless mugs, they look awfully expensive. Well, they are not for sale. You have to earn one, by participating in a man over board drill on the Bella Donna. Lets not call it a man over board drill because some of you will assume that there will be swimming involved. We call it picking up a mooring ball while under sail. This is fun activity that we do on the second or third sailing class depending on how well we progress.
It is a great way to refine our boat handling skills. Each cup will be numbered and I will take the name of those who earn a cup. We will have a drawing the first week of August, and the winner will get a day of sailing with their family, where they can demonstrate their new sailing skills.
I want to again thank everyone for their support of
Captain Ed's Sailing if it is even just through reading my news letters.
Thanks Captain Ed's Sailing
Captain Ed's Sailing gets more popular each year, however there are always great weekends as well as weekdays available.
At the end of the day you walk away from the boat and leave the cost of owning and maintaining the boat up to me.
