Captain Ed's Sailing

Hi everyone hope that you all are finding ways to stay warm. Although I try to not bother everyone to much with my newsletters, in my count down to spring, there are two things, that I want to note, that you should not miss.

Number one coming weekend is the Merrimack River Eagle Festival, if the weather cooperates, this will be a great way to get out of the house as a family, and see some eagles. Last year I spotted just about 6 of them. To register Click here. After viewing the eagles, and possibly some seals, as well as other wildlife, there are many great restaurants around town to stop into for lunch. I will most likely be at the Warren Street market having a hot bowl of Chili. I called Dana at Warren street Market he has assured me that he would have a pot of chili going.

Next and even more important is the lend a hand auction, at

Opportunity Works, to be held on February 23 from 8:30 until I think 9pm. Besides all the great auction items I have a donation for a family sail that you may be able to get cheap, don't be to cheap though it is for a great cause. It is going to be cold and rainy that weekend so make your plans now to stay at home and watch the Lend a Hand Auction.

As you see as cold as it has been out side summer is almost here, I already have friends and clients calling about their boats and ready to get out sailing on the Bella Donna. Either case I am done with winter.

See you all in a few weeks

Captain Ed's Sailing was  very successful last year with just about 50 days of sailing under our belts, and meeting and sailing with many great people.

I want to again thank everyone for their support of Captain Ed's Sailing if it is even just through reading my news letters.

Thanks Captain Ed's Sailing

Things to do after sailing with

       Captain Ed's Sailing

A day sailing on the Bella Donna will take up to 6 hours of your time, at the end of the day, if you still have some energy, there is still plenty of other things to do around Newburyport.

There are plenty of restaurants around town, such as the Grog, Michaels, The Black Cow, and Loretta's, restaurants. A great place to grab a Sandwich before a sailing trip is at the Warren street market

Out towards Plum Island you will find Bob's Lobster.

Make a trip more exciting on your way out to Bob's Lobster by renting an EZ pedal bike from EZ Pedaler of Newburyport

If you are looking for a place to stay while in the area my client's have stayed at the Essex Street Inn,  The Blue out on Plum Island, as well as The Garrison Inn , and the The Compass Rose Inn

We live in a great area to try out some salt water fishing as well. For short days I like Channel Edge Charters, or Flounder Fishing, from the Captains Lady . For Longer excursions check out The Clipper Fleet in Salisbury or again the Captains Lady out on Plum Island.
