Mechelen highlight : le jeune choeur de paris First time at Tenso Days : le jeune choeur de paris. Under chef Henri Chalet, the emerging stars of this students' choir performed a mixed programme of English twentieth-century choral classics and contemporary music.
The choir was created by Laurence Equilbey, artistic director of Tenso's founding member accentus, to provide a learning experience for young singers in choral music. Students at the Paris regional conservatoire (CRR Paris) follow a four year programme which gives them a complete vocal education as soloists and opera singers, but also has them perform as a choir outside the conservatoire. The choir practices every week and gives more than twenty performances per season, organized by their "big brother" accentus. Photo: Leo Samama.
