In 2016 several masterclasses for conductors will be organized during Tenso Days, kicking off during Tenso Days Mechelen in May. Young conductors will be working with Daniel Reuss and other Tenso conductors. Tenso Masterclass for Conductors wants to encourage promising young conductors to take on choral music, working both on standard repertoire and on recent and contemporary pieces.

The second round of Tenso Young Composers Workshop, following the first round in Mechelen (BE) in May 2015, took place in Marseille (FR) last week. Sebastian Androne (RO), Sofia Borges (PT) and Léo Collin (FR) worked with ensemble Musicatreize and coaches on their new work.
The jury was pleasantly surprised by the high level of the compositions. After ample deliberation, the Tenso Young Composers Award was awarded to Sebastian Adrone (Romania, 1989). The jury report will be published soon.
Choirs in Space was the topic of the most recent Tenso Professionals Meeting in Marseille (FR), 5-7 February 2016.
35 professionals from around Europe discussed benchmark examples, challenges and future plans for professionals choirs performing outside the traditional concert setting. The overall conclusion: space is not only a spatial, but also a mental concept: and if we set our goals right, choirs have the tools to create great concert forms in many different and surprising places, appealing to new and existing audiences alike.
