Tenso Days Mechelen | Friday 16 - Sunday 18 May

Since 2005, Tenso members, together with local partners, organize the Tenso Days, a travelling festival to present contemporary choral music performed by the best of Europe's chamber choirs. The concerts are set off by seminars, workshops and other activities. This month, Tenso Days will be organized in the framework of the Festival van Vlaanderen / Mechelen hoort stemmen.

The Latvijas Radio Koris will perform a new work of the winner of last year's Tenso Young Composers Workshop, Eugene Birman, together with works of Vasks, Esenvalds and others.

DR Vokalensemblet will bring a programme with Danish and Swedish composers such as Rasmussen and Norgard.

RIAS Kammerchor will perform a new work by Dutch composer Rob Zuidam, with music of Henze and Monteverdi.

Joris Blanckaert has written Grotesques, a new work for the combination of the three choirs that will be performed in Mechelen's impressive cathedral.
