First Communion
Dear parents and OLF Families,

Last Saturday was a beautiful day! The sun was shining and our students were so excited to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion.

Having learned about our faith, everyone was well prepared to share the Bread and Wine, which gives us life.
Surrounded by family and friends, our children felt the love of Christ in a very special way. Thank you Mrs. Rama and Miss Nelson for your support!

Annual Giving Campaign gets $1000 boost!
A week ago, I was speechless when Mrs. Brigid Baptista, our exceptional Librarian handed me a check for $1000 towards the Annual Giving Campaign. After discussing strategic upgrades for the library with the "Accelerated Reader" and "Accelerated Math" program from TK - 8th Grade, we had decided to move ahead with this curricular challenge. The ability to keep our students on their toes academically will benefit everyone! Thank you Mrs. Baptista. for your confidence in our vision. May God bless your abundantly for your generosity!

Transitions
Besides the recent administrative change that was communicated, there are also changes in the 8th Grade class. When Mrs. Kelly had Baby "Nica" there was a good chance, that she would choose motherhood over career. Below, you will find out about her decision! In addition, Mrs. Meredith Kohl, our wonderful long-term 8th grade substitute has decided that she will not be returning to OLF next year.

I wish to thank Mrs. Kelly for her dedication as a member of my professional team. She will be missed. Also, I want to thank Mrs. Kohl for the very smooth transition she was able to work out with Mrs. Kelly! We will miss you both! May God bless you always!
Announcement from Mrs. Kelly

Mrs. KellyGreetings from the joyful land

of Motherhood!

It is with mixed emotions that I write this letter to my OLF family, which I have been blessed to be a part of since 2004. During my tenure here, I have enjoyed my responsibilities and assignments to the school and have grown tremendously from them.  As a community, we have laughed, learned, prayed and served. In one way or another, you have helped shape me to be the educator I am, and for this, I am most grateful.

I will always treasure the endearing support I received from the OLF community as I celebrated personal landmarks, including an engagement, marriage, out-of-state move and birth of our baby. I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my OLF family during these important parts of my life. It is now with a celebratory spirit that I share my next life landmark with you: motherhood. Domenica ("Nica") is my priority and focus now. In fact, we already "play" school each morning!

My two childhood dreams were to be a teacher and a stay-at-home mom.  You have blessed me with the opportunity to fulfill my first dream and now the Lord has provided me the chance to fulfill my second dream. While I am very excited about embarking on this new chapter with my family at home, it is bittersweet as I leave my OLF family.

I will continue to pray for the growth and success of OLF and I ask that you keep my family in your prayers as well. Please keep in touch: mrsdkelly@gmail.com

May God smile upon you always and forever!

All my love,

Mrs. Kelly

GLOBE-A-THON 2013

If you wish to donate to the Kenyan Aids Orphans, we are still accepting donations. Please specify which cause you wish to support!
