Welcome to OLF

of the 21st Century!

Happy Mothers Day!
Our students are very blessed to have the wonderful support of their parents, families, educators and friends. This support system is a unique strength of our school community, and one that we all cherish tremendously.

As we celebrate Mothers Day this weekend, we especially are grateful to all the mothers at OLF. Without their endless effort and support, our school would not be the same! On a daily basis, we see numerous moms participate in the life of our school, in classroom activities, supporting the teachers and lending a helping hand. We are so very blessed as a school community to have this kind of support and love for God's children.

Our faith guides us in this journey of nurturing, caring for and loving our children. With Mary, Mother of God as role model, we share many experiences and relate to the daily care of the whole child with love and kindness. When we read in our bible that Mary was worried about her young son who went to the temple, or how she wept at the cross, we understand the worries, sacrifices and joys of being a mother.

There is no way that we can repay all the support and love we are receiving from our families, and especially our OLF moms. A heartfelt "thank you" and our prayers for our OLF moms are just the beginning.

We want to thank all OLF mothers who help in the front office, with traffic control, lunch duty, supervision, chaperoning, decorations, Jr. H.S. electives, special events, fundraisers, choir and art instruction, MAP class and much, much more. You are simply amazing!

To all OLF moms: Happy Mother's Day
We are grateful for all that you do for our children! You are always in our prayers!

We are glad that some of you were able to join us for the social gathering of the "Tea by the Sea". Being able to spend some time with each other was a refreshing moment for all. Thank you so very much Mrs. Pschaidt, Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Baasch and Mrs. Nicholson for making this afternoon possible!

Calendar changes for June!

At the beginning of the school year, we indicated that we had scheduled 183 school days while needing only 180 student-contact days to fulfill our Diocesan commitment. This was done to allow for potential modification in case of unforeseen events, such as power outages like last year, etc.  We have come through this year without anticipated challenges. Therefore, we complete the 180 school days successfully by June 11th.

Please revise your calendar as follows:

Last day for students is Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
This will be a minimum day; Students will attend Parish Mass at 8:30 a.m. and the day will conclude with the Concert in the Falcon's Quad at 10:00 followed by our traditional promotion ceremony.
Last day for teachers is Friday, June 14, 2013.
This allows the teachers to complete their contractual obligations a few days earlier. We appreciate your flexibility and support, and look forward to seeing you for the Concert on June 11.   Click for letter calendar adjustments 2013 !
Submitting to the Newsletter
If you have an announcement for the Thursday newsletter, please email it to news@olfschool.net by Tuesday at midnight.  Please include the text and any images/pictures. Thank you.
