What's in a number? Five is for:
|
Five Food Groups: Did you know the USDA ditched the Pyramid for the Plate? Fill your plate with fruits, vegetables, grains (make at least half your grains whole), protein and milk.
Five hot entrees on T,W,Th from Choicelunch: While it is still cold outside, look for 5 hot entrée choices, T-Th, through the month of March.
Strive for Five: 5 Ways to Get Your 5 a Day: 1)Start with the first meal of the day. 2) Get extra energy from fruit or vegetable snacks. 3) Double up on fruit and veggie servings. 4) Use fruit and vegetables as ingredients. 5) Try a new fruit, vegetable, or recipe each week. We've taken the guesswork out of it & provided a delicious recipe below.
5-Ingredient Protein-Packed Veggie Dip
*Optional: Sprinkle salt and freshly cracked black pepper to your liking
In a medium bowl, whisk together the yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice and dill. Chill. Serve with an array of colorful veggies as an afternoon snack!
