Dear Parents, OLF Families and Alumni,

Today, our nation mourns the innocent lives of 20 children, lost in Newtown, CT. The teachers and principal who also gave their lives, or protected the students, were doing what they loved to do! Their expression of courage in a devastating situation and the hope they lived every day, remind us that we must appreciate all that we have - our children, our families, our teachers, our love at OLF! 

As parents we all have the difficult task to "filter" the news age-appropriately from our little ones in order to allow them to feel safe when they go to school. Our older students should also be given the opportunity to express and discuss with you their feelings, when they wish to speak about their fears and emotions. 

Please do not hesitate to let Father Mike, Father William or myself know, if we can be of any assistance to your child! Please hug our children and pray for the families of Newtown that our Lord Jesus Christ may comfort them in this hour of need!
