Welcome Bishop Kevin Vann!
Dear Parents and OLF Families,
 
This week was filled with excitement and lots of prayers! We are living the Year of Faith as a school, parish and community! First, our new Bishop Kevin Vann was installed and many Catholics expressed anticipation and hope, while they thanked Bishop Brown for his many years of service!

OLF was well represented at the celebration in a number of ways:
  • Lt. Col. Matthew Ganley & Mrs. Alex Ganley represented our military families in the diocese
  • Sofia and Dominic were chosen to represent Catholic elementary students in dioceseBishop Vand & Mrs. Nguyen
  • Father Mike Hanifin attended with hundreds of other pastors and priests
  • Father William was part of the Bishop's Installation Committee
  • Our faculty and OLF families attended

Second, our parish celebrated the Patroness of the Diocese and of the Americas. Our church was filled with little chidren and parents at 5 a.m. praising the Virgen de Guadalupe with Maņanitas.

Third, our Eighth Graders attended a special Mass at SMCHS, where they prayed on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

ushers & greetersOur parish needs our help again during the holidays! Last year our Ambassadors did a great job in supporting our parishioners and OLF families by welcoming everyone to the Lord's house for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

 

Christmas Eve Masses:  4 p.m., 6 p.m., 9 p.m.

Christmas Day Masses:  9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. (Span.)

 

If  your  child  wishes  to  help  as  Greeter  or   Usher for the Christmas Eve and Day Masses,  please contact Joe Margraf jmargraf@ford.com

 

During this Year of Faith, our children can live their faith and demonstrate their knowledge by bringing the message of "all are welcome" out to our parishioners and the community...and what better way than to lead at a young age!

 

Please know that signing up is a commitment that needs to be honored. Timely arrival, a big smile and courtesy are part of our OLF Ambassador trademarks! Looking forward to seeing you all at Mass on Sunday and on Holy Days!

Christmas Toy Drive
 
toy drive FINAL DAYS FOR TOY DRIVE! Our OLF Ambassadors' toy drive is coming to an end this Tuesday!  The annual toy drive helps children in our community! The Giving Tree is placed in the front lobby of the school office! 
Unwrapped gifts are due back under the tree by Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 9:00 a.m. Gifts will be taken to F.A.M. by our ambassadors. Please pick up a gift tag or more to guide your giving to those in need!  Thank you for your kindness!

A limited selection of See's Candies will be available for sale in the Prayer Room on Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30pm to 3:30pm until the last box is sold. Available for sale are 1 lb boxes of Nuts & Chews and Assorted Chocolates, Gourmet Lollypops, Jolly Snowman and Mini Fancy boxes. See's Candies make great gifts for a host/hostess, neighbors, family, friends, and co-workers! Proceeds to help offset the cost of 6th grade's Outdoor Science Camp.

Candy Cane Christmas Grams are now on sale! Students can purchase candy grams for their friends, big/little buddies, teachers and family! The cost of each candy gram is $1. Look for the candy gram order forms in your yellow envelope. The deadline to purchase candy grams is December 19th. The Christmas Grams will be delivered on December 21st. Order forms are also available in the clinic. Proceeds to help offset the cost of 6th grade's Outdoor Science Camp.

Children's Christmas Eve Choir

Join us as we celebrate Christmas Eve with music! 

Children from 4th grade and older are welcomed to rehearse and sing for the Christmas Eve Mass at 4:00 p.m. 
on DECEMBER 24, 2012 

Rehearsals follow the 9:00 Mass from 10-10:45 on Sunday Dec 2, 16, and 23rd.  We will also have a large rehearsal on Saturday Dec. 22nd in the afternoon.

Saturday, April 27th, 2013 is Our Lady of Fatima Parish School's Annual Gala. This is a time honored tradition that you do not want to miss.

   

In anticipation of the largest event of the year, we are looking for new items to be donated to our event.  Please consider re-gifting those unwanted or unused Christmas gifts and gift cards to the auction committee...Or if you are out buying that last Christmas gift, consider buying an extra to donate to the auction committee...We would most certainly appreciate any and all new donations!

 

OUR GATHERING PARTY IS SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, JANUARY 25, 2013! Further details will follow regarding this fun event at the Dodd's Residence!

PAGEANT OF THE MASTERS

The Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach is holding a casting call for the 2013 Pageant of the Masters. Casting calls are held at the Irvine Bowl Park (650 Laguna Canyon Road) in Laguna Beach during the following hours: Sat., January 5th from 7pm - 9pm, Sunday, January 6th from 2pm - 5pm, and Thursday, January 10th from 7pm - 9pm. No theater experience is necessary. Please ask for a flyer in the clinic for more information.
