| OLF wins two Red Ribbon Awards! | Dear Parents and OLF families,
It is with great "Falcon pride" that we are able to announce that OLF won two awards in a citywide contest for San Clemente's Red Ribbon Week: - 1st place for Window Display
- 1st place for Door Decorating
week, our students
highlight the need to say "NO" to drugs and alcohol! This deliberate act of rejecting harmful substances in the body is more than a lesson in bio-chemistry, civic duty and responsible behavior. Saying "NO" to drugs and alcohol is reinforced by our belief that taking care of one's body is taking care of God's temple. Yes, God and faith permeate even our substance abuse prevention program.
By layering instructional objectives and "connecting the dots", any lesson becomes a cross-curricular learning experience. Our students combined skills of critical thinking, written communication, artistic rendition, visual expression, and faith-filled values to demonstrate their knowledge. They put the puzzle and theme of "keep the pieces of your life together" to good use.
Blessings, Beate Nguyen, M.A. Ed Principal |

Thank you for an amazing Red Ribbon Week!
| |
Without the help from Denise Schnarr, our PoF President, this week would not have been so successful! Denise, with the help of Hillary Soliman, Sandy Cestari, the art moms and Jr. H.S. room moms, helped with the decorations of the courtyard and classroom doors. Mrs. Schnarr was also instrumental in liaising the parade details and organizing the red ribbons and other details! Thank you to the Griffin Family at Griffin Optometry on Del Mar for allowing us to participate in the contests by offering their store front display space for an entire week! In so doing, all these parents truly made a huge difference!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

Thank you Knights of Columbus!

Your pancake breakfast was delicious and everyone loved it! Let us all thank our Grand Knight Rich Lodyga, our OLF parent James Alves and all the other Knights of Columbus when you seen them! Their love and support makes us successful! Thank you! |

Missing signed Parent / Student Handbook pages!
| Our office staff is charged with the responsibility of compliance verification for various documents, including immunizations, safe environment, etc. During this process, we noticed a number of missing copies of the signed 2012-13 Handbook page for several families. Please be sure to turn this document in by Monday, October 29th. We know there is a lot of information and forms that go home. It is essential that these be signed and returned even with busy schedules. Our efficient office staff becomes overburdened with unnecessary follow-ups, when necessary paperwork is not turned in on time. Thank you for understanding that they are following instructions and that certain things are not optional. Thank you to our families who always ensure that they are meeting the deadlines and are easing the huge workload of our staff! |
