Strategic Planning for OLF
Dear Parents and OLF Families,

As you may know, our school works with Catholic Schools Management (CSM). CSM collaborates with our Consultative Board and consults with the school on strategic issues. OLF is in "Year 3" of a five year cycle that is strengthening the strategic plan for our future. This is a vital task for all of us, as we shape the educational path for our children and future generations of students.

OLF is unique in its geographic location, demographic composition, strong connection to Camp Pendleton and support for our military families. We have a rich history of Catholic traditions and cultural influences. There is much to celebrate and to be proud of!

Our school's image has a sound reputation for our excellence in faith-filled, quality education. We cherish the professionalism and dedication of our staff. We appreciate the nurturing support from our parish. We value the strength of our families who always show such generous support for the school! But most importantly, we love the amazing success of our students!

We are blessed to have a Learning Community that stands out for its investment of extra effort, endless time and generous resources thereby ensuring a strong identity, financial base and quality education.

We continue to build on this solid foundation of past accomplishments, to grow in our Catholic Identity, to develop our 21st Century Learning Community and to preserve our reputation for excellence in Catholic education. This requires continuous commitment, strategic planning and true visionaries, who are willing to apply their professional expertise for the benefit of the school.

Whether its is the fresh look of our school logo, the integration of new technologies or the preservation of our school traditions and historical heritage, we understand that our decisions and strategic planning are part of a "bigger picture."

We truly appreciate the past support of David Gibbs and Dani Kelly.  We continue to be are grateful to our current members on the CSM Committee: Brian Marquez, Linda Gould, and Mike Dolan. Thank you for your wonderful dedication and contributions to this process!

Blessings,
Beate Nguyen, M.A. Ed
Principal

REMINDER: As you are aware, all 7th & 8th graders are required by the State and by the Diocese of Orange to have up-to-date immunizations which include theT-dap booster.  If your child received the T-dap over the summer, please make sure the clinic gets a copy of their updated immunization chart. Parents who opt out of immunizing their children must ensure that we have their signed documentation on file in the clinic

Failure to submit an up-to-date immunization records or to comply with proper documentation for T-dap, can result in your child missing school until this requirement is met. Please contact Kristi Johnson, Clinic Supervisor, at kjohnson@olfschool.net if you need assistance or contact Mrs. Nguyen for individual concerns. Thank you to all families who are easing our workload by complying at the first request! Let's keep our learning environment healthy!
Late Arrivals / Early Releases

Please read this carefully, so that your child can enjoy this special day!

Students, teachers and parents are allowed to come in costumes. Costumes need to be in-line with our Catholic values and be appropriate for school-aged children!  No masks! No props! No painted faces! No spaghetti straps! No clothing shorter than 4 inches above the knee! No scary costumes! Clothing must be comfortable and able to be worn during the entire school day.
