 Music is in the air this Christmas season! Please join us for the Instrumental Christmas Concert, "A Classic Christmas," on Wednesday, December 9th, at 6 pm in the Holy Cross Cafeteria. It will feature the middle and high school band, keyboard students, and the middle school orchestra. We will be performing some classic Christmas carols, some with a new twist!
The Annual Elementary Music Program, "The Sights and Sounds of Christmas," will take place on Sunday, December 13th, at 2pmin the Holy Cross Cafeteria. This performance will feature the intermediate elementary orchestra and the elementary choirs. We will be playing and singing about all of the beautiful sights and wonderful sounds that happen during the Christmas season. Please join us for a fun-filled afternoon! If you would like to bring a sweet treat for a brief reception following the performance, please let me know.

BARNES & NOBLE FAIR 
BEGINS NEXT SATURDAY! DEC. 12-17 Shop Barnes & Noble Booksellers beginning December 12 (through Dec.17) and earn $$ for Holy Cross School. Present a voucher to the cashier upon check out or mention Holy Cross School at the register. (Vouchers are being sent home a few times, and more are in the office and library) Tell your friends, co-workers, neighbors, anyone who might shop at Barnes & Noble. People can also shop on line or any location with Bookfair ID# 11727674!
Join us on Saturday, Dec. 12 at the Barnes & Noble in Lynchburg. Our own HC students will perform a few musical numbers@1:15. Have a drink/snack at the café while listening to the sounds of Christmas! Your purchases from the café count towards our sale. Just be sure to mention the HC book fair! We will also host a "Make and take Christmas bookmark" table from 1:30-2:45 and our own principal will do a Storytime in the children's section at 2:00!

Christmas Wish List 2015
Once again, we are presenting the traditional Christmas wish list tree for the library. Through this program, families
are able to donate a book to the library in honor of a faculty/staff
member, or in honor of a child, memory of a loved one, etc. The tree is in the front lobby near
the entrance to the cafeteria. If you wish to donate a book to the library in honor or in memory of someone, take an ornament from the tree, fill out the back and return the ornament with the money to the office, the library, or to classroom teacher! (YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY THE BOOK- we will order it from our library bound company) A bookplate will be placed in the book with the names of the donor and person being honored/remembered. This is a gift that will keep on giving year after year each time a child checks out the book! If you can't get over to school to see the tree, contact me and I can select a book for you! Thanks for your support of this program that adds books to our collection each year!

Key Club News:Sign up to make sandwiches and bag cereal after school in the cafeteria on Wednesday, 12/9. Needed supplies: loaves of 100% wheat bread; boxes/bags of healthy cereal; creamy peanut butter; jam/jellyPlease sign up to help us ring the Salvation Army Bell at Kroger on  Boonsboro Road on Saturday, December 12th. The only shift that is still open is from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Please contact Mrs. St. Angelo to sign up!! This is a terrific family activity to make a difference during the Christmas season!Christmas is coming!! We are collecting the following items for the children who frequent the Lynchburg Daily Bread: coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, markers; puzzles/puzzle books; stuffed animals; board games; Match Box cars; dress-up stuff; books; candy canes; Barbie Dolls; Christmas candy; new socks and underwear; gloves; hats; scarves; slipper socks; etc.For the Adults: new socks; slipper socks; toiletries; gloves; hats; scarves; books; etc.I will be out of town from December 28th through January 2nd, so I am looking for someone who is interested in taking over the sandwich/cereal duty during that week. We have not missed a week yet since September 2013, and we do not want to miss this one! Please let me know if you and your family can take on this important project/mission to help our friends at the Lynchburg Daily Bread.
