 The Fall Festival & Chili Cook-Off has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 7. We are still looking for teams to compete for various chili cooking commendations! There is no charge to register a team. This fun event is one of our signature fund raisers for Holy Cross Regional Catholic School and is a lot of fun and delicious! For more information, contact PTO President Susan Thornton at susanthornton@progprint.com or Cat Mosley at cmosley@hcfaculty.com. Let the chili cooking commence! PTO Spaghetti Dinner on October 21st Please plan to join us from 5:30 - 6:30 on Wednesday, October 21st, for a spaghetti dinner which includes bread, vegetable, and drink. Cost is $1 per plate. Students in grades 3-5 will eat. Then they will gather in the library to prepare for the Folk Song concert which begins at 7:00. From 6:30 - 7:00, there will be a brief PTO meeting. Please join us and enjoy some relaxed fellowship! Folk Songs: A Celebration of America's Music Students in grades 3 through 5 have been busy practicing some songs that will make you think of the old West. So grab your bandannas and boots and join us on Wednesday, October 21st, at 7:00 for some great music. Or come early for a spaghetti dinner put on by PTO.  iPad Air Raffle Tickets are available in the office. 1 ticket for $5 or 3 tickets for $10. Drawing will be held October 21st during the PTO dinner (do not need to be present to win). Get yours today!

Key Club News:
Sign up to make sandwiches and bag cereal after school in the cafeteria on Wednesday, 10/14. Parents, teachers, and students are encouraged to help! If you are a 5th-12th grade student, then we can use your assistance!
Needed supplies: loaves of 100% wheat bread boxes/bags of healthy cereal creamy peanut butter Continue to send in: toiletries, hygiene products, new socks/underwear for all ages, and gently used fall clothes/shoes for the Lynchburg Daily Bread. We are sponsoring a Bake Sale during the Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, 11/. 7 We will need you to send in some of your scrumptious baked goods on Friday, 11/6!! Middle School Rally 2015
In an effort to reach our middle school youth, the Office for Evangelization offers Middle School Youth Rallies. The Middle School Youth Rally is a one-day diocesan gathering of middle school (grades 6-8) youth from across the Diocese of Richmond. This event is intended to be a high-energy day filled with opportunities to gather as a Catholic Diocesan community which will integrate fun and community building with the richness of our Catholic faith. The rally will be offered in two locations to be able to reach youth in all areas of the Diocese.
* Saturday, October 24, 2015: Saint Edward the Confessor Catholic Church (Richmond) (10:00 am - 5:00 pm)
* Sunday, October 25, 2015: Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School (Virginia Beach) (10:00 am - 5:00 pm)
From Mrs. Main in the library SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR-NOV. 13-18 Mark your calendars for our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair which will begin Friday, Nov. 13 with a preview day and run through Wed. Nov. 18. The Scholastic fair provides an opportunity for students, teachers and parents to purchase books, while helping the school earn money for our library. HELP NEEDED- The fair takes many volunteers to keep it running. If you can help out on any of those days, please contact me. If you cannot help at the fair but would like to help in some way, consider donating a refreshment item for the events held before or after school hours. A form will go home in the next few days where you can indicate if you can help in any of these ways but feel free to e-mail me if you are interested! hmain@hcfaculty.com HOLY CROSS SCHOOL BARNES & NOBLE WEEK: DEC. 12-17 Our annual "fair" at Barnes & Noble has been scheduled for Saturday, Dec.12th. On that day, and for the days after through Dec. 17th, the school will earn money from each purchase made by our families and friends. But more than that, it is an opportunity for Holy Cross School to make itself known in our community. We will have special events on Dec. 12th to include music performances, story time, etc. Stay tuned for more!
