Holy Cross School E-Crossette July 5, 2015

Dear Holy Cross Families,
With tender memories of the many blessings I received from Holy Cross School, I bid you all farewell. I was privileged during the past five years to serve as principal to dedicated teachers and amazing young people. I felt great support from all areas of school life to include our local parishes and our wonderful school chaplain. I thank all of you for sharing the journey, and I wish the Holy Cross School community only the very best in the future. May God bless Holy Cross School!
Once a Gael, always a Gael,
Patti Culbreth
Summer Reading and Supply Lists for 2015-16
Links to our summer reading and supply lists are now on our homepage at holycrossforyou.org. as well as under the Academics tab on the website. Supply lists are also on Renweb under Resource Documents. Our elementary librarian Holly Main has sent out hard copies of our PreK - 5th grade summer reading information, but more specific information for Grades 5-12 are downloadable on the homepage.
New Uniform Vendor We are excited to announce that Lands End is our new uniform vendor! Known for their customer service (and frequent sales) we want to make the uniform process easy and cost-effective. Uniforms can be ordered at www.landsend.com under uniforms. Our preferred school number is 900135971, but you may also search by school and city. Please keep in mind that we have a program called Scrips (Information is below) whereby you can order Lands End gift certificates, and 16% of the total value is returned to the school as a fund raiser. There are other businesses that participate, and this program has been a great fund-raiser for our school.

Scrip Program
If you are vacationing this summer or having a "staycation," you can always use gift cards as you travel or enjoy your family here in the 'Burg. Purchasing gift cards through scrip helps you with tuition and helps the school. Please sign up with our school code L658A22F887L and find restaurants, movies, gas, and amusement cards for wherever you go! Need help? Email jwingfield@hcfaculty.com.
Key Club News: ---Helpers are needed to make sandwiches and bag cereal on Wednesday, 7/15. We will meet around 9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria. Parents, teachers, and students are encouraged to help! If you are a rising 5th-12th grade student, then we can use your assistance! Start earning your service hours for the next school year! [Please continue to send in loaves of 100% wheat bread and boxes/bags of healthy cereal.] ---We are also continuing to collect the following for the folks at the Lynchburg Daily Bread: toiletries/hygiene items, snack items, and gently used summer clothes. ---Let me know if you plan to join us or bring supplies, so I will know if I have enough people and supplies for sandwiches and cereal. Thank you so much to the families who have taken charge of the mission of preparing the sandwiches and cereal while I was out of town!! You have enabled us to not miss a week!! ---If any current or future Key Club members have a pool AND would like to sponsor a beginning of the year Key Club pool party, then let me know. I think it would be a wonderful way to kick off our new year of Key Club member unity. I think a Saturday during the first two weeks of school would work best. Pam St. Angelo pstangelo@hcfaculty.com
A Home for those extra veggies: The Daily Bread would love to have any fresh veggies from your gardens! Please consider either taking your extra produce to them directly or dropping it off at school beginning the week of July 12th, when Pam St. Angelo can deliver them for you.

I will periodically send out e-mails to everyone with dates and times as well! If your child can take A.R. quizzes independently, you may come in anytime during the school's summer office hours! Don't forget the complete A.R. list is on Renweb Parent's portal and hard copies are available in the library.
