New Uniform Vendor
We are excited to announce that Lands End is our new uniform vendor!  Known for their customer service (and frequent sales) we want to make the uniform process easy and cost-effective.  Uniforms can be ordered at www.landsend.com under uniforms.  Our preferred school number is 900135971, but you may also search by school and city. Please keep in mind that we have a program called Scrips (Information is below) whereby you can order Lands End gift certificates, and 16% of the total value is returned to the school as a fund raiser.  There are other businesses that participate, and this program has been a great fund-raiser for our school.

Scrip for the Summer and for New Families!

Welcome to Holy Cross School for all of our new families.  We participate in the Great Lakes Scrip program.  When you order gift cards from scrip, you earn money for our school and yourself (towards tuition)!  Some frequently used vendors are Walmart, Panera, Regal Movies, Lil Caesars Pizza, Walt Disney World, and so much more!  Of course, Lands End, our uniform company, if a participator that offers 16% rebate!  The enrollment is simple.  Visit shopwithsrip.com and search for our school.  Enter the enrollment code (L658A22F887L) and begin shopping.  If you do not wish to set up a Presto Pay account (similar to PayPal), then just order your cards, submit your order, get a check to the school office, and your cards will be waiting at the school for you in about 7 days.  Checks should be made payable to the school.  Scrip orders will be accepted all summer long!!  If you have questions, please contact Colleen Sites ([email protected]) or Julia Wingfield ([email protected]).

SUMMER READING 2015- "Pop open a good book"
Summer has begun and it's time for fun! But make sure that you include your summer reading in that fun! Keep that brain sharp to prevent the "summer slide".  For elementary students, here are the goals:Students entering Pre-K through 2nd grade- Read 20 books over the summer. (Chapter books= 2) Students entering 3rd-4th grade: Read at least 300 pages over the summer.Students entering grade 5: Read 350 pages (includes "Chasing Vermeer" required by Mrs. Shenigo).Document your reading on the log that was sent home last week, and then turn it into your teacher by Aug.31st.  You will be invited to our "Circus Fun day" in September (TBA) Happy reading and happy summer!!  Please contact me with any questions at all!! [email protected]
ACCELERATED READER QUIZZES Students who are able to take an A.R. quiz independently may come in over the summer during office hours and take it in the elementary library. I will also send a RenWeb e-mail when I plan to be at school during the summer for folks who may need a little help taking quizzes. (Most likely on Wednesdays) It's best if students can take a quiz as soon as possible after finishing a book! Keep in mind that the complete A.R. list is on parents renweb under "Resource documents".   Printed copies are available in the office or on desk in elementary library!
