Key Club News:

• Each week that we make sandwiches and bag the cereal into individual servings we need the following supplies:

• 14 loaves of wheat bread

• 4-5 large jars of jelly/jam

• 5-6 large jars of creamy peanut butter

• 13 pairs of sanitary gloves

• 6-8 large boxes/bags of healthy cereal

• Based on the previous information, it would be helpful if you could send in any of the following supplies:

• loaves of 100% whole wheat bread

• peanut butter

• boxes/bags of healthy cereal

• boxes of zipper-style sandwich bags

• or monetary donations to help defray the cost of supplies

What has the Key Club actually DONE in our community since we started several years ago???

• It is amazing to realize that since the middle of September 2013, the Key Club has made about 12,000+ peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, prepared approximately 7,800 individual bags of cereal all for distribution to guests as they leave the Lynchburg Daily Bread after enjoying a delicious hot lunch!!  This feeds the homeless and needy a dinner and breakfast they might not otherwise have.

• We have inspired a few other organizations to take on making sandwiches weekly or for an occasional week.

• We collected bags of warm outerwear clothing, blankets, clothing, toiletries, Christmas gifts, food, snacks, and so forth for the needy.

• We gathered household items, furniture, clothing, school supplies, kitchen items, food, snacks, and so forth for a homeless family who finally had the opportunity to move into a home of their own during the past summer.

• We collected towels, blankets, toys, cat litter, and cat and dog food for the local humane societies.

• We held bake sales for cancer research, Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes, and other organizations.

• We Marched for Babies.

• We made Christmas cards for service men and women.
