PTO News
Thanks to our HC family for an outstanding Santa Breakfast and Christmas Bazaar! Whether you volunteered your time and talents by organizing, cooking, decorating, or lending a hand, purchased a vendor spot to sell your wares, brought your children to help with crafts or sing, spread the word by mouth and social media, or came and ate delicious pancakes and shopped- we could not have done any of it without YOU! PTO raised approximately $2300 at this event. Thanks again and Happy New Year from your PTO.
The next PTO meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 20, at 6:30 in the school cafeteria.
Your attendance will be greatly appreciated as we discuss a spring fund raiser.
PTO Board Meeting - Tuesday, January 13, at 6:30.
All students are reminded to wear sufficient warm clothing in this cold weather season, and to make sure that names are in all items!

- Thank you to the Harvey family and Girl Scout Troop #473 for helping to make the sandwiches during Christmas break!! We STILL have not missed a week since September 2013!! You all are awesome!!
- We plan to meet in my classroom after school on Wednesday, January 14th to make cards for cancer patients, children in the hospital, and other general patients at Lynchburg General. ALL are welcome, so please help if you can!!
- Do you want to make a difference in the lives of the hungry in our community by sharing your time? We need servers at the Lynchburg Daily Bread on Sunday, February 1st from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Middle school students may help, but a parent MUST volunteer with them. [Please do not park in the Holy Cross Church parking lot, but use the parking garage instead.]

CHRISTMAS WISH LIST
Thanks once again to those who donated a book to the library in honor of a teacher or loved one this Christmas through our "Wish tree" program. We will be adding 25 new books to the library! If you took an ornament off the display in the lobby and haven't returned it, or if you would still like an opportunity to honor a student, loved one or teacher, please contact Mrs. Main: [email protected]. There are some book titles that were not taken. Thanks again to all who have participated in this program that adds wonderful books to our library!
RENWEB LIBRARY SYSTEM-IMPORTANT NEWS
The elementary library will now begin using the software that is part of our school wide RenWeb program. This system will have many advantages but there are things you need to know. The following are important notes concerning the transfer and a few components of the new system :
1. All books checked out from the old system (anything that was checked out before Christmas break) must be returned immediately to the library. If a student needs a book again, we will check it out for them using the RenWeb program.
2. Books will no longer have a receipt in the pocket listing titles and due dates. Instead, there will be a "date due" card tucked in the pocket with a date due for each book. Please leave both the borrowers card and the date due in the pocket!!
3. You are able to check how many books your child has out by logging on to RenWeb in the parent portal.
4. You are able to search the library database from any computer.
Please contact Mrs. Main with any questions! [email protected]
Thanks for help as we make the switch over to RenWeb! Stay tuned for more details how you can utilize the program from home.
