CARPOOL SAFETY!
Dear Parents,
I would like to make an appeal to those of you who drop off students for school each morning.  We recognize that mornings can get harried for the best of us.  If your child needs some time to get backpacks organized or gather belongings together before leaving the vehicle, we ask that you pull into a spot or pull up next to the curb to allow those cars behind you to continue the drop off.  This consideration will make the carpool line run more smoothly and help us avoid a back-up on Langhorne Road as other cars are waiting.  If you pull to an alternate spot, please walk your child to the sidewalk rather than allowing them to cross the parking lot alone.  Our teachers on duty will be vigilant in their duties to assist you.  Thank you for putting safety first and for showing consideration to other parents and families.
All the best,
Mrs. Culbreth

FALL FESTIVAL A SUCCESS!
Thank you to the many volunteers who made our 2nd Annual Fall Festival a great success!  The children loved the pony rides, the bouncy house and the magician!  The adults had fun sampling chili from 15 teams and enjoying some time among friends. We all enjoyed listening to the great music by The Williams Brothers. This event could not happen without the support of our community -- thanks to all!  Save the date for next year -- the first weekend in November!

Report Cards and Student Information on Renweb

Report cards for students in grades PK-12 are now available on Renweb.  Click on Student Information, Report Cards to view your child's 1st quarter report card.
Apparently some of our parents are unable to access information (report cards, etc.) on the Renweb Parentsweb screen.  There appears to be a compatibility issue with Renweb and Internet Explorer.  To fix this problem, click on the little blue "torn paper" icon in the browser bar (located between the lock icon and the refresh button to the right of your Renweb address).  Once you click on this you should be able to view Renweb contents. Sorry for the inconvenience! Contact the office if you are still unable to view student information.

Spirit Wear Sale
There will be a special holiday Gael Spirit Wear sale from November 11-15.  Stay tuned for details.

Middle School News:

On October 25th, we had our first social of the year.  A special thanks to our decorating "expert" Mrs. Matthews and her helpers Mrs. Golden and Hannah and Mrs. Raso.  The cafeteria was transformed.

October 30th was our Middle School Fall Movie Day.  After a morning of academics, we enjoyed delicious snacks while watching movies.  Thank you to all of the families who shared snacks and especially to Mrs. Guglielmetti, Mr. Edwards and Mrs. Speicher for setting up, serving, and cleaning up.  We appreciate all that you do.

October 31st, middle school students trick or treated for UNICEF Eliminate.  Donations are due on Monday to Mrs. St. Angelo and the Key Club.  Thank you for your support.

We have also assisted the Key Club in making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the Daily Bread.  Additional hands are always needed so if you would like to volunteer contact Mrs. St. Angelo for the next date.

HS Dinner Theatre November 8

Plan to attend the HS Dinner Theatre presentation of the one-act play, Cyrano de Bergerac on Sunday, December 8 (note date change).   Regarded as one of the greatest dramas ever written, this story of the silver-tongued soldier whose unfortunate looks drive him to woo his love by speaking for his handsome but dull-witted rival is beloved around the world.  You will laugh and cry -- don't miss this event.  Click on this flyer for more details:  Cyrano Dinner Theatre

Breakfast with Santa and Christmas Bazaar will be held Saturday, December 7,
and we will need your help.  Please consider volunteering when you receive an email from a PTO member.  Once you see this date on your Facebook page, join in and make sure all of your friends see it!  We have 43 vendors so far this year for the bazaar and our goal is to have 70.  Our Santa Shop will be open for children to shop for family members.  There will be lots of pancakes, crafts, face painting, and Santa will stop by as he always does!  Hope to see you there!

Butter Braid Sale
Don't miss your opportunity to get these delicious pastries.  Orders are due to the office by 11/8.  Pick-up date will be 11/25.

Jersey Mike's Night
Elementary Student Government is sponsoring a Holy Cross Night at Jersey Mike's on the corner of Lakeside Drive and Old Forest Road (Next to Fresh Market) on Tuesday, November 19th from 4 PM until 8 PM.  We will earn 15% of purchases made during that time.  Please tell family and friends to come join us.

Win a Flat-Screen Television!
PTO is selling $2 tickets for a Haier D-LED Direct HD 32" flat screen television with PC input.  Drawing will be held at Breakfast with Santa (need not be present to win).  Get your tickets today from the school office, the Luthers, or Mrs. Wingfield!

Shoe Drive through November 8
Elementary is sponsoring a "Shoe Drive" starting Monday, October 14th and ending on November 8th here at Holy Cross. We will be collecting USED footwear, (casual, dress, boots, sandals, etc.) in an effort to recycle and help third world countries. A box will be placed in the front foyer where shoes can be deposited during school hours. The shoes will be collected at the end of the school day on Friday, November 8th. Please consider cleaning out your closets as you put away your summer clothing. These shoes can be in ANY condition as they will be repaired before shipping.

Holy Cross 10th Annual Turkey Drive

Why: To gather turkeys that will be donated to the Daily Bread to help feed the poor on Thanksgiving.
